GMC’s All Terrain package provides off-road capability. GMC’s 2500HD All Terrain X package provides even more of it, and does it with attitude. The latest model to receive the X treatment is the Sierra 2500HD. Before it, GMC put the extreme off-road spin on the Canyon and Sierra 1500. But, given the size and power of the 2500HD, it might outperform both of them.
Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X
After all, even GMC describes the All Terrain X as the “most off-road-capable model in the Sierra HD lineup.” On paper, the X backs up that promise pretty effectively. GMC offers a choice between a 6.0L Gas V8 Or 6.6L V8 Duramax Turbo Diesel. The Duramax commands a segment-leading 445 hp and 910 lb.-ft. Of torque. To handle that kind of output, the X will come with a Z71 off-road suspension package. Additionally, the underbody shield will provide confidence for taking on any terrain.
Bells and Whistles
The equipment that comes standard on the 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X includes:
18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels
Massive LT275/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac MT-Rated Tires
Body-colour grille with All Terrain insert
4-inch black sport steps
A ridiculously long model name
In keeping with its performance-first nature, the Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X will be available only in Black Onyx and Summit White. And, in keeping with the All Terrain X tradition, supplies will be very limited. But don’t worry, for those of us who don’t appear in Mad Max: Fury Road, the X’s special features might be overkill, anyway. With the regular Sierra 2500HD, you can still get the monster 6.6L Duramax. Plus, if you bring your truck to Capital Customs, we can customize it for a fraction of the price.
